Good Husband Qualities – Three Fundamental Qualities You Need To Earn Your Wife’s Neverending Love
Introduction
“What are the qualities of a Good Husband?” is a question that is often asked by men who are serious about knowing all they can possibly know about how to be a Good Husband to their wives. In this article we’ll explore the three fundamental qualities that you need in order to be a Good Husband, and to earn your wife’s love, adoration and affection for the rest of your natural lives.
So What Is A Good Husband?
The answer to the question “What is a Good Husband” depends on who you ask. Men are likely to give different answers than women. And mature people (both men and women) are likely to give different answers than newly-weds (or those about to get married). And even if you ask two people from the same group, for example two thirty-something married women, their answers are likely to differ, based on their education and background.
Example: Someone who grew up in a house where the father was an alcoholic is likely to answer differently to someone who grew up in a house with a “model dad.”
Although different answers are likely to the question about what makes a Good Husband, there are some fundamental qualities that any husband should have in order to be considered a Good Husband. So we will list some “general” qualities rather than “specific” ones (which will differ from respondent to respondent). The general qualities, however, are the same for everybody.
The Three Most Important Qualities Of A Good Husband
There are many things that a Good Husband will have to be (and do) in order to show his wife that she is his queen (and so to ensure that she will make him the king of her life and shower him with her admiration for as long as he lives).
But of all the things that you could – or rather should(!) – do, the following are the three fundamentals – the pillars upon which everything else rests and builds. These three fundamental qualities of a Good Husband are:
Quality 1: Habit Of Loving Your Wife
A Good Husband will love his wife so much that he will be willing to sacrifice everything, even his own life(!), for her. If your wife is not the most important person in your life, then your love for her is not as true as it should be.
Remember that love is NOT a feeling. Love is a choice – and it becomes visible when you choose to perform a range (a barrage, almost) of random, unexpected acts of tenderness, kindness and caring for the queen of your heart.
Quality 2: Showing Respect For Your Wife
You can respect someone without loving them – for example a co-worker. But you cannot love someone without respecting them.
Therefore, if you say you love your wife, you have to show that you respect her. That means:
- Never tell jokes about your wife
- Never talk about your wife in a derogatory manner
- Never refer to her as “my old lady” etc.
- Never criticise her in front of anybody – especially not in front of the children, family or friends
This list can go on and on, but you get the point. Always speak to (and about) your wife with the utmost respect and love – as one would about your queen.
Quality 3: Displaying Kindness Towards Your Wife
Recently I read a blog about kindness, and many people told of the acts of kindness that they did for their spouse. What really struck me was that ALL those people who gave examples of kind acts they did for their spouses were . . . women!
Does this mean men are not kind to their wives? Surely not. But it did make me think . . .
Do we men really understand what kindness is? Or are we too wrapped up in the “hard world” to know how to be kind to our wives? Or, God forbid, too busy?

Friends, your wife is your most precious gift. She is worth all your love, attention, affection, respect, kindness and time.
Give your best to your wife, and always strive to treat her as your queen.
